PackUK Publishes RAM Version 1.1 — Here’s What You Need to Know
PackUK has released an updated version of the Recyclability Assessment Methodology (RAM) version 1.1. This version is designed to make things easier, clearer, and more manageable for large producers preparing for the upcoming Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) deadlines. With the first recyclability reporting deadline fast approaching on 1 October 2025, RAM v1.1 is a welcome update. .
What’s new in RAM version 1.1?
This latest version introduces a number of key improvements aimed at helping producers complete their recyclability assessments more efficiently:
- Reduced complexity in assessment requirements, making the process more straightforward.
- Clarified guidance to support better understanding and fewer grey areas.
- Enhanced usability to ensure timely, accurate completion for the 2025 compliance period.
Plus, any changes from the previous version are clearly highlighted at the end of each material section — so you can quickly see what’s new.
What should producers be aware of?
- The methodology must be applied to household packaging placed on the market from 1 January 2025.
- The first reporting deadline for recyclability assessment data is 1 October 2025.
- Only large producers, including online marketplaces, are required to report their recyclability assessment data. Find out more about producer classifications.
