Hear from OPRL on the Circular Economy Stage

OPRL’s Director of Technical and Member Services, Alice Harlock, will be presenting at 10:30am on Wednesday 11 February on the Circular Economy Stage.

Navigating the new EU labelling landscape: Preparing for the 2026 packaging regulations shift

From February 2026, the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) has the potential to transform how packaging is labelled, sorted and how information is provided to consumers. These new requirements are expected to introduce:

  • Digital data carriers
  • Harmonised colours
  • Clear packaging material information

In this session, Alice will explore how these changes could affect your business, unpacking real-world scenarios, mandatory labelling requirements and the impact on materials such as compostable packaging. She’ll also discuss what these developments mean for the future of circular packaging design and highlight the critical role of labelling in supporting consumer understanding, drawing on OPRL’s consumer insights and our view of what’s coming from Europe.
